Obituary for Mrs. William Rossow

Greenwood -- Funeral services for Mrs. William
Rossow, 69, route 1, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Trinity
Lutheran Church. She died at 11:15 a.m. Sunday following a lingering illness.
Burial will be made in the Greenwood cemetery, the Rev. Walter Schedler
officiating. Friends may pay their respects at the Stabbow Funeral Home
beginning Tuesday.
Mrs. Rossow, nee Anna Ehlert, was born Sept. 7, 1880, in Germany (baptismal
certificate). She came to this country with her parents while young and
settled in Loyal. She received her education there and was married there June
7, 1899, to William Rossow.
Since their marriage the couple had made their home on a farm in the Town of
Warner. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year.
Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Olaf (Elsie) Ystad, route 1,
Greenwood. Three brothers, Frank Ehlert, Wild Rose; Otto, Marshfield; and
Albert, Abbotsford; and a sister, Mrs. Emma Komis, Marshfield, also survive.
A brother and sister preceded her in death.
LOCAL RESIDENT, 85, DIES THIS MORNING
Funeral Rites Will be Held Monday for Mrs. Fredericka
Ehlert

Mrs. Fredericka Ehlert died at 7:25 o’clock this
morning at the age of 85 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emma Komis, 314 W.
Fourth Street, where she had been making her home for the past nine years.
Mrs. Ehlert had been in poor health for approximately four years as a result of
a complication of ailments aggravated by old age.
The body will lie in state at the Komis home on W. Fourth street, where funeral
services will be held at 1 o’clock Monday afternoon. At 1:30 o’clock another
service will be held at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, of which she was a
member.
Burial in Loyal
The Rev. B. F. Matter, pastor, will officiate at the service here, and at
the burial rites in the Lutheran cemetery at Loyal.
Mrs. Ehlert, nee Fredericka Suemnicht, was born in Bewran-Pommern, Germany, Feb.
27, 1854. She was married in Germany Oct. 2, 1879 to Karl Ehlert.
On April 17, 1881, Mr. and Mrs. Ehlert came to America and settled in Iron
Ridge, Wis. After living here for one year they came to Clark County, first
living on a farm near Loyal and then moving to the Village of Loyal.
Six Children Survive
Mr. Ehlert died in Loyal March 19, 1916. Since November 1930, Mrs.
Ehlert has lived in Marshfield with her daughter.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William (Anna) Rossow, Greenwood, and Mrs. Ed
(Emma) Komis, Marshfield, and four sons, Frank Ehlert, Wild Rose, Herman Ehlert,
Wausau, Otto Ehlert, Loyal; and Albert Ehlert, Owen. A daughter, Minnie, died
Aug. 4, 1928, and a son, Karl Jr., died in infancy.
Eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a brother, Fred, who lives
in Germany, also survive.
