Lyle O. Kile sent this photo to the Thorp Courier News with the identifications of some of the Town of Butler founders.  According to Mr. Kile, the people pictured, left to right, are: John W. Kile, holding saw vertically in left hand; the community's minister, whom Julie Kile believes was Rev. Palmer; Merritt Taylor, with the saw in his left hand, William C. Butler; Bernard Winterer, with his hands clasped on the saw handle; Ludwic Audorff, behind Bernard Winterer; Chester Daines, with his hands on the saw handle; Guy Butler, the adopted son of William C. Butler; Eaton (Eden?) Morrison; and Art Morrison, Son.  Mr. Kile says this photograph was taken on the Frank Winterer farm, which was located 1/2 mile east of the Butlerville School on the road's north side.  The Kile farm, where Lyle was born, was on the south side of the road.
