**The spreadsheets contain a large amount of information and may take several minutes to display. This data was obtained from cemetery, church & family records, tombstone photos, obituaries, a cemetery walk through, Wisconsin biographical and historical records from 1881, 1891 & 1918. The accuracy of the data varies and may include errors. If you have additions or corrections, please contact us. If you can not find a desired obituary in the ALHN database to verify the entry, you may wish to order a micro-film of a Neillsville newspaper from the time frame you are researching. The available newspapers can be requested from the Wisconsin State Historical through your local library. Please consider submitting any newly acquired items to the ALHN Records Board. If you have a bit of extra time, why not type a few unrelated items as a random act of kindness to future researchers?

If you would like to obtain additional records, contact Lois Hagedorn in the Register of Deeds office at the courthouse. These necessary forms may be downloaded and sent along with your inquiries: Birth Record Application; Death Record Application; Marriage Record Application.

Notes regarding Fritz Hertig:

The Sternitzky Family History shows a Fred (Fritz) Hertig as buried in the Lynn Cemetery.

    1. Fred was born in 1870 in Switzerland, the son of Samuel & Magdelena (Rotchard) Hertig.

    2. Fred was married on 20 October 1891 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Town of Lynn (now the Zion American Lutheran Church), to Emma Johanna Sternitzky. Emma remarried in 1896, died in 1960 and is buried with her second husband William Wisbroecker at the Lutheran Cemetery in Eau Claire, Wisc.

    3. Only one child born of this marriage: Rosina Maria Hertig, born 10 August 1892 in Town of Lynn.

    4. Fred died in 1892 in Neillsville.

    5. The Fritz Hertig in the Lynn Cemetery could read "Gest. den" (short for "Gesterben den" in German, which means "Died on the date") followed by the date 8 Jan. 18?2. Where the year is difficult to read. The year could be 1892. A close examination of the tombstone is needed.
