Obit: Dale, Ole H. (1882 – 1937)
Surnames: DALE Source: GREENWOOD GLEANER (Greenwood, Wis.) 01/21/1937 Dale, Ole H. (10 Aug 1882 – 13 JAN 1937) Ole H. Dale was born at Sacred Heart, Minn., Aug. 10, 1882. A few years later his parents moved to Jackson, Minn., where he spent his boyhood days and where he finished his high school education. In 1907 he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1900 the family moved onto a farm near Glenwood City, Wis., where he helped to develop a farm and later was in the employ of the Omaha R.R. Co., serving in the capacity of operator and agent at Wilson, Stillwater Jct., and Black River Falls. In 1915 he again took up farming on the home farm and was so engaged until 1919 when he moved to a farm near Greenwood, Clark County, Wis. Two years later he entered into a partnership with the late A.R. Warnke and organized the Greenwood Oil Co. and continued in that work until the time of his death. Mr. Dale possessed a very happy personality, whereby he made friends with everyone he came in contact with. Endowed with a generous, genial and charitable character, he will be missed and mourned by everyone who learned to know him. On Jan. 8th he was stricken with influenza and was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where medical science could not prevail against the Angel of Death, man’s greatest and last enemy. He passed away very peacefully at 5:10 p.m. an. 13, 1937. Leaving to mourn his death are his aged mother and one brother, Edward Dale of Glenwood City, who was at his bedside when the end came. He is also survived by two nephews, one niece, four cousins and a host of friends. God bless his memory and, may He who gave and took this life, comfort and sustain his aged mother, whose lives were so lovingly entwined. He lived to be 54 years, 6 months and 3 days. He was a member of the local Masonic Order who had charge of the funeral, which was held at the United Lutheran Church Monday afternoon, Rev. M.K. Aaberg and Rev. E.G. Pfeiffer officiating. The body was taken to Glenwood City, where another service was held on Tuesday and where he was laid to rest. |
