Gangler, Katherine (APR 1847 – 19 SEP 1909)

Mrs. Katherine Gangler, wife of John Gangler, died at their home in this city (Neillsville, Clark County) at an early hour Sunday morning, Sept. 19, 1909, aged sixty two year and five months. Deceased was born in Germany, where she grew to womanhood. There she married John Ganger in 1871 and the same year they came to America, settling in Milwaukee, where they lived three years. They then moved to Clark County on a farm five miles south of Neillsville. After living there eight years they moved to the city, where they have resided ever since. To them were born eight sons and four daughters. Two died while small children in Milwaukee; the others all survive, namely; John, Matthew, Nicholas, Joseph, William and Peter; Mrs. Hannah Hughes, Mrs. Lena Imse, Mrs. Mary Derkson and Mrs. Maggie Geisler. All of them were assembled at the home for the funeral, the first time in fourteen years that they had been together. Besides her husband and children, Mrs. Gangler leaves also two brothers, John and Peter Marx of West Bend, Wis. She had besides a number of cousins and more distant relatives who mourn her death.

Deceased was a most excellent woman, a devout Christian, a dutiful wife and mother. Her life was largely devoted to the care of her family, who will remember her kindness and care with the deepest affection. The funeral was held at the Catholic Church Wednesday forenoon, Rev. Father Dorrenbach officiating.
