--------Germain, Sarah Elizabeth ( 8 May 1839 - 17 Feb.1922)

Mrs. David St. Germain passed to the Great Beyond Friday, Feb. 17, 1922 at the Marshfield asylum at the age of 83 years, 9 months, 9 days. Sarah Elizabeth Sparks was born in Sullivan County, New York, May 8th 1839, was married to David Sparks in Sullivan Co. in 1857. To this union were born one daughter, Ascenith, and one son, David. Her husband died May 28th, 1860. In the year 1871 she came to Wisconsin with her father and settled at Plainfield. In 1876 they moved to Sherwood where she resided until her death. On January 4, 1880 she was married to David St. Germain. He preceded her in death 10 years ago.

Mrs. St. Germain belonged to the Methodist Church. She was a devoted Christian, wife and mother. She had a large circle of friends and she was always willing to help in sickness. Knowing her, meant to love her. She had five brothers and two sisters of which 3 brothers remain to mourn her departure. They are: Jesse of Sherwood, James of Plainfield and Robert of Oregon, also one daughter, Mrs. Andrew Lawson, one son David of Cary, Wood Co., 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The remains were laid to rest in the Sherwood cemetery beside the body of her husband.
