York Center, February 2nd - Wilcox is a thing of the past and hereafter will be remembered as York Center. The P. O. is discontinued today and the patrons will be supplied by the carriers of Granton Route No. 1 and Neillsville Route No. 4. Earl Lewis came home last Wednesday from Rib Lake where he was working in camp for a short time. George Smith of Tioga was a caller here Thursday. The residence of William Rowe has been quarantined owing to the prevalence of small pox. A number from here went over to Christie Friday evening to attend the crusader jubilee meeting. All members of Wilcox camp No. 3950 M. W. of A. are urgently requested to be present at the next meeting, Saturday, February 7th, as delegates are to be elected to represent this camp at the county camp. A. Fulwiler, Clerk. Town treasurer J. W. Pietenpol was at the store last Friday and relieved some of the farmers of their burdens of cash. Eddie Voight is confined to the house with a sore leg. No end of Grip victims up this way. Born, January 31st to Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Lawrence, a boy. The scholars of district No. 2 gave a basket social at the school house last Friday night for the purpose of raising sufficient funds to buy a book case.
