Obit: Battersby, Mildred (1922 - 1922)
Surname Battersby --Source: Neillsville Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) Thursday, 12/28/1922 -----Battersby, Mildred (28 July 1922 - 22 Dec. 1922) On Friday, Dec. 22, Mildred, the infant daughter of Mr and Mrs. Stanley Battersby of the town of Washburn, died in a sudden and mysterious manner. The mother put the child to sleep as usual at 3 o’clock in the afternoon and place it in bed. When she looked at the baby before six o’clock she found her dead. It did not seem from the way the child lay that she was smothered and it is hard to account for the death, as she was an ordinarily healthy child. The little one was born July 28 and was therefore five months old. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Neillsville. |
