Surnames: RONDORF KING ROWE LAWRENCE MACK GIBSON BAILEY LINDSLEY KRIMMER Source: Republican and Press (Neillsville, Wis.) 10/05/1893 York, Wisconsin: October 1, 1893 Joe Rondorf went to Chicago with a car load of cattle last week ago Saturday. H.A. King started Monday for visit to the World's Fair. The cheese factory at York Center stopped operations last week. E.M. Rowe transacted business at the county seat Monday. Melvin Lawrence went to Chili last Monday to work in his brother's place, while Bert takes after the festive partridge and brings them down by the score. While Mrs. Mack, her son and granddaughter of Loyal, were on their way here to visit Les Mack they had an accident which might have been fatal. When near the M.E. Church, the pole strap broke which caused the tongue to drop, frightening the horse and they ran up against a large oak stump, breaking the pole and whiffletree and throwing the occupants out. Mrs. Mack was injured on the wrist and her son, who is a cripple, received injuries which may prove fatal. J.J. Rowe Sr. left last Tuesday for Plymouth to spend the winter. Ernest Rowe visited at Granton on Thursday last. S.D. Gibson went to Neillsville last Saturday and enjoyed the rain. E.T. Bailey of Chili, spent Saturday and Sunday with relatives at this place. Hattie Lindsley had the misfortune to fall from a porch and knock her knee out of joint last Friday afternoon while at school. Mr. and Mrs. Krimmer, who have been visiting Mrs. Krimmer's parents at this place, returned home Friday. ROXY |
