S.W. Bolton and his wife visited relatives at Humbird the fore part of last week. George Campbell and wife and William Mortimer took in the sights at Neillsville Monday. Miss Bertha Hallock closed her school in District No. 2 Tuesday. William Smithers and L.J. Fulwiler visited Chili, Tuesday. Last Tuesday Albert Dunn sold his farm to Fred Kohn. Consideration $1,400. Sol. Hanes purchased a farm near Loyal and will take possession of the same soon. Last Monday, Francis Palmer trapped and captured a large wild cat and it is now on exhibition at F.M. Rowe & Co.'s store. Chauncy Fowler closed his school in the Dwyer district and has gone to Humbird, his former home. Vonhinklestinhousenbloser is sporting a bicycle now and goes down the road at break neck speed. L.A. Crocker opened school in District No. 2 and Mrs. Emma Bolton in District No. 4 today. S.D. Gibson and wife took in the sights at Greenwood last Friday evening. People living in the eastern part of the town were startled early one morning last week by the fierce cries of a wild animal. Mr. Pierrelee took his gun and went in the direction of which the cries came and was surprised to see a large animal and he supposes it to be a panther. People should investigate and capture the beast. Thomas O'Brien, of Minneapolis, is visiting with his parents.
