George Rowe is now drawing the reins over E.M. Rowe's fine span of ponies. The storm of last Monday proved to be the worst of the season. L.J. Fulwiler has again accepted a position at Chili and started on his duties Tuesday. H. Lapp, the Granton butcher, was seen in this vicinity Monday, looking for calves, etc. Miss Belle Meeks and brother, of Alma Center, visited with relatives the first of the week. Kubat Brothers have a logging job for Mr. Hein, of Neillsville, and are in it head over heels - in the snow. On account of the deep snow pathmasters are constantly kept on the road with snow plows in order to make it passable for teams. Mrs. Noel Rogers is visiting with her parents at Cadott. Fred Benedict, of Chili, spent Christmas with his parents. Mrs. Sam Livingston and her son Willie, who have been dangerously ill the past two weeks, are convalescent. A.W. Hales had exciting chase after a large black bear last Monday, but Mr. Bruin proved to be too smart and outwitted him. Mrs. Wesley Bolton, of Neillsville, visited with her sister, Mrs. Leslie Mack, a few days last week. Burton Lawrence came home sick on Tuesday of last week. He had been working in camp at Phillips. Our postmaster was laid up a few days last week on account of rheumatism. George F. Lawrence, who spent about a year and a half in Sheboygan County returned home Thursday. W.H. Rowe, who is in camp for Tom Kerns, spent Sunday with his parents. I. Fulwiler and wife spent Christmas at Marshfield.
