Silkey, Frances (30 MAR 1884 - 15 SEP 1923)

Mrs. Henry Silkey passed away at her home Saturday morning, Sept. 15, 1923. Deceased, whose maiden name was Frances Chase, was born at Hoyton, Wis., March 30, 1884. When a baby she came to Clark County, Wis. with her parents, who settled on a farm in what is now called Christie. Here she grew to womanhood and in Nov. 1903, she was married to Henry Silkey. To this union two children were born, Alfred, who died in infancy and Mabel, who lives at home.

Early in May deceased submitted to an operation at Rochester, which did not prove successful. From then on she continued to fail in health, although the very best of medical attention and loving care was given her. She suffered intensely at times, but endured it all with the greatest patience. Mrs. Silkey was loved and respected by all who knew her and she will be sadly missed in her neighborhood, and especially in her home. In her early years she joined the Methodist Church, and always continued in the faith, so when the final summons came, she gladly went to the home of her Maker.

Deceased leaves to mourn her early death, her husband and daughter, Mabel, and two step-sons, Edwin and George, her mother, Mrs. S. P. Chase of Withee, three sisters and three brothers, Joseph Chase of Plaza, N.D., Edmund Chase of Pulloyup, Wash., John Chase of Owen, Mrs. Henry Koplitz of Withee, Mrs. Ernest Rogers of Ladysmith, Mrs. James Egan of Detroit, Minn.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. Church Tuesday afternoon, interment in the Christie Cemetery.
