Obit: Larson, Harry (? - 1923)
Surnames: Larson, Devos, Lunders ----Source: Neillsville Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) Thursday, 05/10/1923 ----Larson, Harry (? - 1923) Sunday Harry Larson, a farmer living a few miles northeast of Greenwood died suddenly, his death seemingly being due to drinking moonshine. On Monday District Attorney Devos started on inquest before Coroner Taylor and a number of witnesses were examined, the inquest being adjourned until report can be returned from chemists at Madison to whom the stomach and other organs of the deceased were sent for examination. The evidence thus far drawn out was to the effect that Larson accompanied Otto Lunders of Greenwood and two men from Marshfield in an automobile, on what they claimed to be a fishing trip. It was shown that the man had some liquor of which Larson drank quite freely. They drove about the country here and there, Larson appearing to be in a stupor and his companions believing him to be drunk did not trouble themselves much about him. They finally discovered that he seemed to be dead and drove with him to a doctor’s office, where it was found that he really was dead. The men could not tell how long he had been dead and were unable to give a very clear account of the affair. There is a possibility that it will prove to be a very serious affair for the men who furnished the liquor. |
