-----Moldenhauer, Julia Christina (2 Feb. 1845 - 19 May 1923)

Mrs. Michael Moldenhauer died at her home in this city Saturday, May 19, after nearly a week’s illness from bronchial trouble. Mrs. Moldenhauer, whose maiden name was Julia Christina Wachtmann was born in Germany Feb. 2, 1845. She came with her parent to America when she was four years old. They lived for a time at Buffalo, N. Y., then moved to Cedarburg, Wis., where she grew to womanhood. She was married to Michael Moldenhauer at Cedarburg Jan. 2, 1868. They continued to live about two years, the they moved to the town of Lynn in Clark County. They moved to Arcadia and lived there for a time, then came back to the farm in Lynn. In 1903 they sold the farm and moved to Franks, Missouri, where they lived until 1910 when they came back to Neillsville and bought a home. Mr. Moldenhauer died Jan. 7, 1922, and she continued to live here, here son, Erwin, staying with her.

Mrs. Moldenhauer was a woman of fine qualities of mind and heart. She was a faithful wife and mother and a kind and generous neighbor. She leaves to mourn her death three daughters and two sons, namely: Clara, Mrs. Geo. Cozens of Baltimore, Maryland; Clara, Mrs. Jack Keating of Antigo, Wis., Adaline, Mrs. Wm. Winters of Tripoli, Wis., Erwin of Neillsville and Walter of Granton. She leaves also 10 grandchildren.

The funeral will be held this Wednesday afternoon at the Reformed church, Rev. D. Grether officiating. All her children were present at the funeral.
