Schools of Green Grove Township

The photo below is from the Ilene (Awe) Pribbernow collection. These are the eighth graders and their teacher of the South Bright School in Green Grove, WI.

Lined up on the south side of South Bright School in the spring of 1941 are: (1) Bonnie Awe (2) Donald Teclaw (3) Calvin Awe (4) Mrs. (Geneva)Berrett, teacher (5) Theresa Charmnik (6) Ilene Awe (7) Janice Schroeder

**Note--Geneva Berrett (b. Oct. 3, 1909) was the daughter of Calvin and Lottie (Berg) Davis. She was a student at La Tart School, in the Town of Beaver, and graduated from Greenwood High School. After attending Teachers Training School in Neillsville, she taught in area rural schools and the School District of Greenwood. Her teaching career spanned over 50 years. She and her husband, Verland L. Berrett, married at Winona, Minnesota and had three children of their own-- Jean, Duane, and James.
