Jean Loos, 81, Loyal, died on Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at the House of the Dove Hospice Home, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser officiated. Burial was in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dave Loos, Gary Rueth, Don Rondorf, Rick Dietsche, Douglas Rondorf, Jacob Bennett, Vaughn Loos and Richard Loos.

Dorothy Jean Kruger was born on Dec. 11, 1920, southeast of Loyal, to Gilbert and Helen [nee Kromer] Kruger. She attended the Mack School and graduate from Loyal High School in 1938. She worked in Chicago for three years and then moved back to Loyal. She married Gilbert Loos on Feb. 14, 1942. After her husband’s discharge from the U.S.Army, they moved to a farm northeast of Loyal, where they farmed for 32 years. After retiring form farming, they sold the farm and moved to a new home in Loyal, where she lived until the time of her death. She was an active member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the Loyal American Legion Auxiliary. She did home care duties for the county for 13 years, was a 4-H leader for 18 years, helped with the bloodmobile for 25 years, was a 50 year member of the Clark County Saddle Club. She also enjoyed bowling. She and her husband hosted numerous foreign exchange and 4-H exchange students.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty [Ray] Rondorf, Greenwood, and Pat [Glen] Bennett, Loyal; three sons, Tom [Betty] Loos, Loyal, Robert [Jacklyn] Loos, Spencer, and Mike Loos, Marshfield; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jack [Bette] Kruger, Marshfield, and Richard Kruger, Janesville.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Gilbert, on March 20, 1989.

Cuddie Funeral home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.
