Obit: Shupe, Frank's Memoriam (1865 - 1921)
While going through old papers of my Grandmothers and ran across this “memoriam’” sent to my Grandmother when her brother, Frank Shupe, passed away. [March 24, 1921]It’s printed on a 3x5 card with a black border – and was mailed in an envelope with a black border. By the way – postage was 2 cents! I hope a transcription of the names it contains will be helpful to others as it also contains names of many people living in Loyal, Wisconsin at that time. “In Memoriam - Resolution Adopted by the Loyal State Bank - Whereas, Death has called from our midst our esteemed director Frank Shupe, and Whereas, The close relations and able assistance of our departed officer prompts us to record our appreciation of him, therefore, be it Resolved, That the sudden removal of our officer and friend leaves a vacancy in our midst that will long be remembered and deeply mourned by his fellow officers; and be it further Resolved, That the sympathy of The Loyal State Bank be extended to the bereaved family and friends of the deceased officer, and be it further Resolved, That these resolutions be spread on the records of the Bank, published in the Loyal Tribune and a copy of same delivered to the family of deceased. Officers and Directors A.A. Graves, President, B. Christman, Vice-President; R.M. Jenks, Cashier; H.F. Moors, Ass't Cashier. John Beaver, Thomas Froeba, Wm. Ayeer, Otto Weyhmiller,Sr., E.J.Etta” |
