Carl/Charles C. & Emma Lena (Runkel) Hoehne
Greenwood, Eaton, Clark Co., Wisconsin
Mrs. Hoehne, formerly Emma Lena Runkel,
the only child of George and Louise Runkel, was born December 21, 1873, in
Reeseville, and was married to Carl C. Hoehne June 7, 1903, in that city. She
received her education in Reeseville and Watertown, after which she taught
school in and around Reeseville for 10 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Hoehne celebrated their
golden wedding anniversary last June. Since their marriage they had lived in
Greenwood, where Mr. Hoehne has operated the Hoehne Hardware store for 51
years. Mrs. Hoehne was a member and past president of the Reformed Ladies Aid
Society, and an organizer of the Sunday school, a past worthy matron and member
of the Local Order of the Eastern Star.
She and Carl are both buried in the
Greenwood City
Cemetery.
