Obit: Franke, Herman (1876? -1925) Surnames: Franke, Grether Source: Neillsville Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) Thursday, 09/10/1925 Franke, Herman (1876? - *7 Sept. 1925)* Could be off. SUDDEN DEATH IN LEVIS Monday morning Herman Franke, who live in the eastern part of the town of Levis was found dead in his bed by two nephews who are making their home at his house. A particularly sad feature of his death is the fact that Mrs. Franke is in the hospital at Marshfield where she was operated on for appendicitis Saturday. Deceased was 49 years old; he was born in Germany and has lived 19 years in this country. He leaves no children of his own; a nephew of his wife, a boy about 12 years of age lived with them, and another nephew about 18 years old, arrived here from Germany four weeks ago. The funeral is held this, Wednesday, afternoon at the Reformed church, Rev. D. Grether officiating. * Herman’s wife is Bertha -- from 1920 Census * Nephew who is 18 in obit is -- Schroeder, Kurt -- from 1930 Census * I am not related to this family line.
