McAdams, Mrs. J. W. (? - 5 DEC 1929)

In a letter to Mrs. Richard Lynch of Levis, Clark County, Wis. from her sister, Mrs. George Braman in Los Angeles, comes the news that Mrs. J. W. McAdams died in the hospital in Los Angeles, Dec. 5, 1929. Mrs. McAdams was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hutchings and was born in the farm home at what was known as Hutching's Corners or Day Corners, three miles south of Neillsville, Clark County, Here she grew to womanhood, married J. W. McAdams and lived for many years on their farm west of the corners. During all the years of her adult life, Mrs. McAdams was very active in community affairs. She taught music, organized classes in music and Sunday Schools in rural communities. During the summer months for a good many years she superintended a Sunday School at the Prince of Peace Presbyterian Chapel in Pine Valley, and was helpful in the lecture courses and Chautauquas carried on in Neillsville, besides giving a helping hand to many other good movements in the home neighborhood. Mrs. McAdams was the last of the Hutchings family, one of the early pioneer families of this community.
