Morrison, Mackman (17 NOV 1875 - 6 MAY 1925)

Friend Mackman Morrison was born at Hub City, Richland Co., Wis., Nov. 17, 1875 and died in the town of Butler, Clark County, Wis., May 6, 1925, being 49 years, 5 months and 19 days old.

For several months past he had been troubled with his heart and spent three weeks in the hospital at Eau Claire. A week ago he was brought to his home here where he died.

His early life was spent in Richland Co., where he grew up. His later years were spent in the west.

When the World War broke out, he enlisted in the Canadian Army, serving in the English Army in France for over 3 1/2 years. The regiment in which he enlisted went out 1400 strong, and he was one of 35 the original number to return home.

For the last four years he has made his home with his brother, Eden, in the town of Butler.

He leaves to mourn his loss, five brothers, Isaac of Viroqua, Joseph and George of Trempleau, James of Woodstock, Eden of butler, Clark co., and one sister, Mrs. Stella Van Vleet of Selden, Kansas. He also leaves two half-sisters, Mrs. Jennie Robinson of Viroqua, and Mrs. Kate Nicks of Sparta. Also many other friends and neighbors.

The funeral services were held at the home of his brother, the sermon being delivered from Psalms 23 by Elder F. F. Wolfe. At the close of the sermon, Cecil Tormey Post No. 118 of the American Legion, in a body, took charge of the remains, and competed the services according to the rules and regulations of the order, which were good, and laid him to rest in the Butler Cemetery.
