Louis Shaw

Louis Shaw, age 89, went home to the Lord June 2. His wife of nearly 70 years, Lucille Evans Shaw, was by his side. During his short illness, Louis had been anxiously talking about the day he would be with his parents and two brothers who preceded him in eternal life. He also rejoiced at the thought of being with his beloved dog Laso.

Louis was born in Neillsville to Clara (Wedekind) and George Shaw on Jan. 19, 1915. Louis attended High School in Neillsville, then married his beautiful, bride, Lucille Evans, in August of 1934. During WW II Louis worked in a foundry in Milwaukee, then moved to Black River Falls in 1947. During his 50 plus years in Black River Falls he was an active member of the Lions Club as well as the United Methodist Church. During his life Louis loved hunting and fishing especially with his surviving brother; Robert Shaw, of Neillsville.

He is further survived by his sister, Edna (Dick) Lowe, of Olitha, Kansas.

His three sons, Louis, Jr. (Sally), of Black River Falls; Richard (Barbara), of Black River Falls, and Roger (Pat), of Oshkosh, remember spending time with their dad doing the things that he loved such as woodworking, building remote control model airplanes and also gardening. Thanks for the memories Dad! During his last weeks his favorite times were spent on his porch with his lovely wife by his side watching the birds. Louis will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Especially his 11 grandchildren, 33 great- grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

A memorial celebrating his earthly life was held on Monday, June 7th at the United Methodist Church in Black River Falls. Hisninternment was at the Neillsville cemetery.

"I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me will have life even when they die. And everyone who lives and believes in me will never die." John 11:25
