Obit: Klapatuauskas, Nicholas E. (1947 - 2004)
Wednesday, February 25, 2004 edition of the Clark County Press Nicholas E. Klapatauskas Nicholas E. Klapatauskas; age 56, of Thorp, died at his home, from cancer, on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004. Nicholas Edward KIapatauskas was born on May 8, 1947, to Julius and Frieda (Cornwell) Klapatauskas, at their home in rural Thorp. Nick attended Pineland Elementary and Thorp Elementary Schools, graduating from Thorp High School in 1965. After graduating from Milwaukee School of Engineering, he worked in the engineering field in Philadelphia for about six months and then returned to his hometown of Thorp. He married Susan Patrick on April 15, 1972 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. Nick worked as a professional logger for 31 years, first in the state of Washington and then back in Wisconsin. He started his own successful business, Klapatauskas Forest Products. Nick is survived by his wife Susan, of Thorp; four children, Todd (Kathleen), of Dubuque, Iowa; Greg (Karla), of Medford; Kelli (Tom) McGreevey, of Appleton; and Kyle, of Thorp; four grandchildren, including, Charlie and Abigail Klapatauskas, of Dubuque, Iowa; his father Julius Klapatauskas, of Thorp; three brothers, Julius (Katie), of Willard; Randy (Leeann), of Thorp; Arlen, of Thorp; two sisters, Eunice (Ron) Hendrickson, of Spencer; Karen (Bob) Jordan, of Indianapolis, Ind.; his mother-in-law, Jean Patrick, of Mosinee; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Frieda and his father-in-law Ralph Patrick. Funeral services were held Friday Feb. 20, at St. Bernard's - St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp. Fr. John Puerner officiated. Burial followed in the St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery. |
