Word was received here Sunday by relatives that Mrs. Beatrice Johnson had died at Morristown, S. D., on March 1. No particulars as to the cause of her death has as yet been received. Here age was about 42 years. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs. George Brooks and was born in the town of Lynn where she grew to womanhood.

She attended Neillsville High school graduating in the class of 1906. She taught school in this county and also near Morristown, S. D. There she took up a homestead. On Nov. 5, 1913 she was married to William G. Johnson, of Oxford, Wis., who had graduated from Neillsville High school in 1905, and had also taken a claim near hers. They lived for a time at Oxford and then went out to Morristown and moved on their land. Her husband died in August 1917, and since then she has taught school from time to time and was this year teaching a school some 25 miles from Morristown.

She leaves one daughter, Evelyn Johnson, 15 years old. Her parents, Mr and Mrs. George Brooks live at Morristown. She leaves also one sister, Frances, Mrs. Roy Hodges, Whiter River, S. D.; a brother Earl, who lived in Idaho, and an adopted brother Roy in Akron, Ohio.

She was a lady of quiet and refined tastes and had many lovable qualities. She had a host of friends here who will grieve to learn of her death.
