Robb, Clarinda Amelia (26 July 1845 - 3 June 1931)

Clarinda Amelia Walker, daughter of Ira and Lucina Walker, was born at Postville, Green County, Wisconsin, July 26, 1845, and died at the home of her son, Ralph, in the town of Hewett on Wednesday morning, June 3rd, 1931, aged 85 years, 10 months and 8 days.

The early life of Mrs. Robb was spent at Postville. At the age of 21 years, following Mr. Robb’s discharge from the army, the couple were married march 18, 1866 and settled on a farm near Blanchardville, Wisconsin.

To this union six children were born; Esther, Jessie and Myrtle, all of whom are deceased, Lenora, now Mrs. Erick Loberg of Christie; Ralph of the town of Hewett, and Ella, now Mrs. Tyler Thompson of Black Earth, Wisconsin.

After 40 years of active life onto the farm, Mr and Mrs. Robb moved into the city of Blanchardville, where they lived for fifteen years.

In 1920, they moved to Neillsville, where they kept their home until April 17th of this year. At this time because of rapidly failing health, it seemed best to be near relatives and Mr and Mrs. Robb went to live with their son, Ralph. About twenty years ago, Mrs. Robb suffered a paralytic stroke, which was followed by others, the last occurring two weeks ago, from which she did not recover.

Mrs. Robb was a true Christian woman, a member of the Free Will Baptist Church at Postville, and attended the Methodist Church in Neillsville. Hers was a long and useful life. Untiring, conscientious, industoustrious and loyal, she has proved an ideal wife, mother, and grandmother, a thoughtful friend and neighbor.

She is survived by her aged husband, three children named above, 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends, who mourn her death.

Funeral services took place Monday afternoon at the Union Church at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. P. B. White officiating. Burial took place in the local cemetery.
