Keller, Michael (21 Oct. 1858 - 17 Aug. 1931)

Michael Keller, who was under treatment at the Mendota Hospital for several weeks, passed away there Monday noon, Aug. 17. He had continued to fail gradually and death came as a release from his suffering.

Michael Keller was born at Farmington, Wis., Oct. 21, 1858, and grew to manhood there. He was married to Miss Kathryn Reinel at Johnsons Creek, Wis., in the spring of 1885. In 1882 he had gone to Raymond, South Dakota and taken up land and after his marriage continued to carry on his farm until 1891. They then returned to southern Wisconsin, where he followed farming until 1902. In the spring of that year they moved to Clark County and bought a farm in the town of Levis. Some years ago Mr and Mrs. Keller moved to Neillsville.

Mr. Keller was an excellent farmer, industrious and honest and stood high in this community as a worthy citizen. He was brought up in the Evangelical faith, but on coming to Clark County united with the Methodist church and was a most earnest and devout worker in that organization, being a trustee of the local church.

He is survived by his wife and *six children: Geo. Keller of Neillsville; Oscar of Milwaukee; Luclla, Mrs. Carl Hartman of Waukesha; Mabel, Mrs. Ollie Linster of the town of Weston; and Walter at home. He leaves also ten grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters.

Lowe’s ambulance went to Mendota, Monday afternoon and brought the body back to Neillsville. The funeral will be held at two o’clock Thursday afternoon at the Union church, Rev. Paul White officiating.

The pall bearers will be Fred Sears, Jos. Counsell, H. O. Huckstead, Wm. Naedler, Henry Just, Lon Huckstead.

* There was only five listed in the original obituary.
