Obit: Reich, Paul (1904-1943)
Surnames: Reich, Lindow, Garbisch, Schlinsog, Sternitzky, Crothers, Scholz, Grottke, Auman, Hause Source: Millie Lee Collection, clipped from the Marshfield News Herald Reich, Paul (Nov. 20-1904-Dec. 9, 1943) Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon for Paul Reich, 30, of Granton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Reich, Town of York, who died Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. at the Neillsville Hospital of a skull fracture suffered Monday afternoon, when the motorcycle he was riding overturned on rough road between his home and the Albert Lindow home. Mr. Reich had righted the motorcycle, but when Mr. Lindow approached him he found him in a dazed condition so immediately took him to the Neillsville Hospital. The accident victim never regained consciousness. The Rev. Arthur H. Laesch will officiate at the 1:30 o’clock serve Friday afternoon at the Gustave Reich home, 2 miles north of Granton, and at the service at Zion Lutheran Church. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Martin, Alfred, and Dan Garbisch, Harold Schlinsog, Otto Sternitzky, and Wendell Crothers. Mr. Reich was born in the Town of York Nov. 20, 1904, and attended Romadtka School. After leaving school he went west and was employed in Oregon for six years. He spent the next two years farming in Millar, Neb., returning to Wisconsin three years ago to operate his own farm, 4 miles north and 1 1/2 miles east of Granton. Surviving besides his parents are four sisters, Mrs. Fred (Emma) Scholz, Granton; Mrs. Henry (Clara) Grottke, Granton; Mrs. Claude (Anna) Auman, Neillsville; and Mrs. Louis (Martha) Hause, Neillsville, and three brothers, Walter of Independence, William of Amherst, Neb., and Leland, on the home farm. Another brother, Edward, preceded him in death. Mr. Reich had been confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church a the age of 15. |
