The pride he felt for his family was as strong as his encouragement and love. Jack was born Oct. 7, 1930, in Aurora, Ill. He graduated from Plano High School in 1948. He had been a farmer and a truck driver but most of his joy came from helping friends and family. Jack had an uncanny ability to spot a four-leaf clover when no one else could, and he was always ready for a new adventure. He is survived by wife, Katy Soderberg; daughter, Kathleen (Russ) Decker, Schofield; and son, David (Sherri) Soderberg, Pittsville. He is also survived by four grandsons, Jeremy Decker, Hattiesburg, Miss., Jeff (Amber Foley) Decker, Stevens Point, Keith Soderberg, Marshfield, and Jon Soderberg, Pittsville; great-grandson, Aidin Decker, Stevens Point; four sisters, Betty Hansen, Grand Junction, Colo., Lorene Frieders, Yorkville, Ill., Barbara (Chuck) Cook, Dixon, Ill., and Judy Wilson, Aurora, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents, Roy and Viola Soderberg, Bristol, Ill. The family would like to thank Saint Joseph's Hospice for their kindness and excellent care. Services entrusted to the Cremation Society of Wisconsin, 715-834-6411.
