Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. - Edwin Philip Michels, 76, Neillsville, died Wednesday at Neillsville Memorial Hospital.

Rites will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley, with the Rev. John B. Pinion, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mr. Olivet Cemetery at De Pere.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday and until time of services Saturday at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley, where a parish vigil service will be at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Michels was born July 30, 1900, at Bakerville and grew up in the Bakerville area. On Sept. 26, 1926, at Bakerville, he married the former Ruth Murray, who preceded him in death in 1971.

After their marriage they lived in Marshfield and moved to Greenwood in 1928. He was employed in the dairy industry all his life as a cheesemaker and cheese inspector.

From 1946 until 1975 he lived in De Pere. On April 9, 1975, he married Regina Gaier of Route 1, Granton, Clark County, and had lived in Neillsville since.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (LaValice) Hilbert, Chilton, and Mrs. Robert (Audrey) Speich, Stanley; a sister, Mrs. Celia Wagner, Marathon; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Three brothers, six sisters and a grandchild also preceded him in death.
