Obit: Pakiz, Olga (1890 - 1976)
Aptil 15, 1976 edition of the Clark County Press Mrs. Olga Pakiz, 85. Greenwood, died Monday morning at Memorial Home in Neillsville. Mrs. Pakiz, the former Olga Tiran, was born July 20, 1890, in Ljublgona, Yugoslavia, where she received her education. In 1914 she came to the United States and worked in a millinery shop in New York before coming to Willard. She was married September 7, 1918, to Vladimir Pakiz in Neillsville. He died in August, 1963. After their marriage, the farmed in the Town of Hendren. She moved to Rte. 1, Greenwood in 1963. Mrs. Pakiz was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church at Willard. Surviving are two sons, Gilbert of Reisterstown, Maryland; and Frank Pakiz of Rte. 1, Greenwood; a daughter, Mrs. George (Marie) Kuznacie, of Sheboygan; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. last Tuursday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. The Rev. Augustine Svete officiated. Interment was made in the Greenwood cemetery. Pallbearers were: Joseph Bayuk, William Bayuk, Roland Hintz, John Scharenbrock, Joeseph Hoeser, and John Zagozen. ===== I happened to find this obit of Mrs. Pakiz. She and her husband lived across the road from my grandparents - great neighbors, great people. One thing that puzzles me. Her husband is in the Greenwood (city) cemetery index.
