Schoeffel, Frank (7 AUG 1841 - 11 FEB 1916)

Frank Schoeffel died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Lang, on Friday morning, Feb. 11, 1916, at about 6:30, aged seventy-four years, six months and four days, of paresis.

Deceased was in apparently good health considering his age and the evening before his death complained of not feeling well, but as it was nothing to be alarmed over, went to bed. In the morning when the family arose to do their morning chores one of the children was sent upstairs to wake him. After calling him several times and not receiving an answer came down again thing he was still asleep. At breakfast time Mrs. Lang went upstairs to get some things for the table and again called him. As he did not answer she went into the room and noticed his eyes had an unnatural expression, but as his body was still warm did not think that death had come.

The doctor was immediately summoned and when he arrived it was first learned that death had already overtaken him.

Deceased was born in Radl, Austria on Aug. 7th, 1841 and on Oct. 10th, 1870 was married to Miss Francis Aignes.

To this union was born two children, Mary, who died in infancy and Mrs. Joseph Lang. About fifteen years after the marriage he came to this country, settling in St. Paul, where he followed up the trade of marble polisher. After living in St. Paul for about five years, his wife died and shortly afterward he came to this community (Dorchester, Clark County, Wis.), settling on a farm four miles northwest of town.

Funeral services were held Monday morning from the Catholic Church, Rev. E. A. Beyer officiating, interment made in the church cemetery.
