Source: Clark County Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) DEBRA A WASSERBURGER Debra Anne Wasserburger, age 49, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 27, 2001 at Hospice Home of Madison, surrounded by loved ones. Debra was born in Neillsville on January 18, 1952, the daughter of Pat and the late Charles ‘Bitsy’ Wasserburger. She was a graduate of Neillsville High School and the University of Wisconsin in Madison where she earned an Independent Degree in Design. Debra was a member of the Society of Certified Kitchen Designers and was employed at Architectural Building Arts as a head designer. Many may remember Debra as a ski instructor at Tyrol Basin, a member of the Mount Horeb Historical Society, and as the co-owner of a local construction company in Blue Mounds. Debra was also very involved in her children’s activities. She enjoyed spending time at the family cabin, gardening, cooking spaghetti dinners for the cross-country and track team and “luxuriating” at Governor Dodge. Her other enjoyments in life included her horses, New England, art, antiques, pottery and weaving. Those knowing Debra will always remember her contagious smile and magical aura. Surviving Debra are her children, Jennifer of Madison; Lucas of Boulder, CO and Sawyer at home in Blue Mounds: her mother, Pat Wasserburger of Neillsville; David (Anita, Charlie, Chloe) Wasserburger of Marshfield; Uncles, Frank Wasserburger of Janesville and Albert Trost Jr. (Linde, Steve, Ken, and Joe) of Palmer, AK; Mike (Dawn) Wasserburger of Denver, CO; Lt. Col. John (Karen) Wassergurger of Poynete; Patricia (Wally) Hillard of Naples, FL and Mike Doud of Madison. A celebration of Debra’s life was held at her home in Blue Mounds on May 28, for her children and friends. A private celebration will be held at the family cabin. In June, a celebration will be held for Debra’s co-workers and clients. In recognition of Debra’s wishes, no formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to a hospice of your choice or to the memorial established for Debra’s children’s college education. “God has picked another earthly flower for his heavenly bouquet.”
