Campbell, Harvey (25 May 1856 - 21 Sept. 1932)

Harvey Campbell, one of the older residents of the Town of Weston, passed away Sept. 21, 1932, following an illness of several months.

He was born in Waukesha county, Wisconsin, May 25, 1856, and grew to manhood there.

In 1878 he was married to Sarah Kendall, who has been his faithful companion for nearly 54 years. Following their marriage, they went to Nebraska where they made their home for six years. In 1884 they returned to Wisconsin and resided at Osonomowoc for 15 years. In the year 1899 the moved to Clark County and purchased a farm in the Town of Weston, where they lived for 20 years.

In the year 1919, the Campbells moved to Neillsville which has been their home until the present time.

Mr. Campbell was an energetic, efficient, and faithful workman. During his sickness, the enforced retirement from active labor has been his greatest trial.

He has been a good husband, a kind father, an helpful neighbor, in all relationships a Christian man, and was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church.

Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife, four children: Ethel, Mrs. Roscoe Brown of Weston; Alta, Mrs. A.M. Robbins of Olympia, Wash.; Hannah, Mrs. Will Bohnsack of Weston, Ernest of Neillsville; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Julia Pebbles, Oconomowoc, Wis.; and Mrs. Ellis Tanner of San Jocinto, Calif.; and 2 brothers, Carson Campbell, Yakima, Wash.; and Will Campbell, Seattle, Wash.

Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 24, from the home at 1:30 o’clock, and from the Methodist Presbyterian church at 2 o’clock, the Rev. P. B. White officiating.
