ALICE E HINKELMANN

Alice Hinkelmann, age 76, of Neillsville, died on Sat. July 10, 2004, at the Memorial Medical Center. Alice died peacefully with her family at her side.

Alice Esther Hinkelmann was born on Dec. 28, 1927 the daughter of Carl and Nelda (Lautenbach) Garbisch in Granton. She attended the Rodar School and graduated from the Granton High School. Alice was united in marriage to Arden Hinkelmann on May 24, 1947. She worked at the Farmer’s Store and then as a court reporter for nine years for Judge Oscar Schoengarth. For many years she dedicated her time to raising her family. She also worked for the Fuller Brush Company as a Field Manager for 23 years. During this time she was also the co-owner and bookkeeper for Hinkelmann’s Mobil Service Station working alongside her husband for 38 years. Her work and her family were very important to her. After Alice and Arden retired they would spend their winters in Alamo, TX. They enjoyed 10 warm winters there. Alice was a charter member of the Calvary Lutheran Church and also a member of the Calvary Women. She belonged to the Business and Professional Women’s Organization and was a member of the United Commercial Travelers.

Surviving Alice is her husband, Arden, of Neillsville; two children, Dean (Marcia) Hinkelmann and Annette (Terry) Marty all of Neillsville; four grandchildren; Heather and Aaron Hinkelmann, Amy Marty, all of Neillsville, and April (Luke) Elmhorst, of Humbird, and two great-grandchildren, Katherine and Dominic. Also surviving are three brothers, Leland Garbisch, of Milwaukee; Marvin (Carol) Garbisch, of Packwaukee and Vernon (Darlene) Garbisch, of Sheboygan.

Preceding Alice in death are her parents and two sisters, Irene Mott and Violet Schmidt.

A Memorial service for Alice was held on Wed. July 13, at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville, with Pastor James Gordon officiating. Kris Herbrand, organist and the Calvary Lutheran Choir provided the music.

The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville assisted the family with the arrangements.
