Sampson, Marvin H. (6 DEC 1926 – 23 JUL 1927)

Marvin Henry Sampson, the seven-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. George Sampson of Milwaukee, died at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Plockelman, Saturday, July 23, and was buried from the St. Peter’s Church, Monday afternoon, July 25, Rev. Weubben officiating. The pallbearers were Harvey Fierke, Leslie Staab, Arthur Schultz and Melvin Daeke and the flower girls were Ruth Johnson, Marie Schultz, Gertrude Walters and Ruth Fierke.

The little fellow and his mother came to visit at the Plockelman home about a week ago, Mrs. Sampson is a daughter of Mrs. Plockelman by a former marriage.

He was seemingly well until late Friday when he developed a slight fever and what thought was a bad cold, but no one had any fear that he was seriously ill until early Saturday morning when the doctor was sent for and a little while after 7 o’clock the little one had passed away of pneumonia. He was born Dec. 6, 1926, so was 7 months and 17 days at time of death. Just a little blossom that made joy and happiness for all who loved him here, gone on to blossom forever in the Heavenly Father’s garden. He was here long enough to make his going seem almost unbearable, but dear sorrowing ones, take comfort in words of Jesus when He said, “Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of Heaven,” for we know he is where the storms and sorrows of life will never reach, safe in the arms of Jesus.

The baby’s father, Mr. George Sampson, arrived here Sunday morning, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Sampson, of Ashland came Monday and Mr. and Mrs. Gus Walters of Spencer were also here for the funeral.

We Join with the many friends in offering our sincere sympathy to these who have been called to mourn the loss of this beautiful babe.
