Surname: Goldamer, Zimmerman, Daniel, Vance, Bachman, Bowden Source: Herald -Palladium Newspaper (St. Joseph, Mi.) 6 Aug. 2004 Goldamer, Julius Albert (23 Sept. 1918 - 31 July 2004 Julius Albert Goldamer HARTFORD -- Julius Albert Goldamer, 85, of Hartford passed from his life on earth to eternity in heaven on Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. Julius was born on Sept. 23, 1918, in Neillsville, Wis., the son of William and Rose (Zimmerman) Goldamer, both of whom preceded him in death. Julius was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Bendix Corporation after numerous years of employment. Being a body man, Julius had a love for collecting and restoring old Mustangs. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 4, at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford. A service to honor his memory will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at the Hartford Church of God. Pastor Lonnie Truelove will be officiating. Burial will follow the service in North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Military rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 1137; VFW Post 6803; and American Legion Post 362 and its auxiliary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation. Julius is survived by his wife, Esther, whom he married in October of 1964; his son, Jack Goldamer of Wisconsin; daughter, Sharon (Kirk) Daniel of Lawrence; daughter, Shirley (Ronald) Vance of Dowagiac; and son, Robert Petty of Florida. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sisters -- Geneva Bachman of Hartford and Alice Bowden of Clio, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Julius was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Goldamer.
