Surname: Schoengarth, Kalassa, Laesch, Korth, Duge, Pischer, Foemel, Gluck, Garbisch, Reindel Source: Neillsville Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 16 March 1933 Schoengarth, Johanna (10 March 1854 - 5 March 1933) Mrs. Wm. Schoengarth passed away on March 5th at her home in the town of Grant. Mrs. Schoengarth, formerly Johanna Kalassa, was born in Germany, March 10, 1854. She came to America in 1870 and was united in marriage to Wm. Schoengarth in 1874. Deceased suffered a stroke two years ago and had been an invalid since. A week previous to her death she had another stroke and heart attack from which she did not recover. The funeral was held Wednesday, March 8th at the Mapleworks Lutheran Church, Rev. Laesch officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville Cemetery. Pall bearers were Leo Korth, Wm. Duge, Oswald Pischer, Wm. Foemel, Dan Gluck and Henry Garbisch. Mrs. Schoengarth was one of the early pioneers of Clark County. She was a kind mother and neighbor, was very hospitable and enjoyed having her friends in her home. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her death her aged husband, William Schoengarth, and four daughters, namely: Emma, Mrs. George Reindel; Augusta, Hulda, and Anita, besides six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Five children preceded her in death, in infancy. Mother, thy work is done; One earth thy race is run, Thy crown is won. Rest thou serene and sweet, At our dear Savior’s feet, Until again we meet in that bright home! Mother we miss you here, Thou hast been always dear to every heart. But soon we’ll follow thee, Home with our Lord to be, Thy happy face to see, For evermore! Mother farewell till then; How long we cannot tell Ere we shall meet. Bright will that morning be, With thee and Christ to see, Ever in glory be; No more to part! |
