Miss Leona Bieneck has taken a position as stenographer in the F. D. Calway law office. Miss Dorene Zuege, who has been employed by Mr. Calway, has taken a position at Loyal, her home.

W. J. Landry organized a 4-H club at the Washington school Monday night and the Oak Grove School on Tuesday night. A club will be organized at the Hiawatha school tonight (Wednesday).

Schultz Bros. Col are getting their stock of goods into the basement of their store formerly occupied by the Cash Hardware Co. Miss Alma Wagner and Mrs. Norma Cohan of Neillsville and Miss Helen Mortimer of the town of York are assisting in marking goods.

Art Russell will open a Gamble Store Agency in the Legion building on Fifth Street about May 20. Mr. Russell is now engaged in installing fixtures and arranging his stock. The store will be a fine addition to Neillsville’s business district.

Mr and Mrs. George Zimmerman and son John and daughter, Miss Ruth, and Lowell Schoengarth, drove to Madison Friday where John as one of the 10 finalists in the Culver Academy scholarship contest, Took his examination. Miss Daphne Beeckler accompanied them as far as Tomah where she visited a sister, returning with them Saturday.

Mr and Mrs. George Shaeffer and his father, Mat Schaeffer were badly shaken up in an automobile accident a mile north of the city when their car was struck head on by a car from Thorp. It was said the Thorp driver cut the corner too sharply. Mrs. Geo. Schaeffer and Mat Schaeffer suffered painful bruises and cuts.

Mr and Mrs. W. L. Smith Jr. attended the funeral of Mrs. Smith’s father, W. T. Churchill at Rock Elm Monday. Mr. Churchill, who was nearly 77 years old, had been ill for several months. Mrs. Smith’s brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Churchill and daughter Avis of Milwaukee stopped here for a day at the Smith home.
