w/flag WITHEE - Herbert W. Anderson, 80, Withee, died Feb. 19, 2004, at Memorial Health Center in Medford.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford. Burial will be in Perkinstown Community Cemetery, where graveside veteran's rites will be conducted.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and until service time Monday, both at the funeral home.

Mr. Anderson was born Sept. 1, 1923, in Medford to Sidney Sr. and Hertha (Schoen) Anderson. He was married to Irene M. Nickels on April 23, 1983, in Altoona. He served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II and participated in the Battle of the Bulge and the liberation of concentration camps with the Third Army. He retired in 1988 after 30 years of employment with Hurd Millwork.

He is survived by his wife, Irene M. Anderson of the town of Grover, and sister, Babette Egdahl of Altoona.
