Mrs. Frederick Plockelmann died at St. Joseph’s hospital at Marshfield, Monday forenoon, June 18, 1928, of myocardial insufficiency and was brought to her home at Dorchester and laid at rest from St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Thursday afternoon, June 21, Rev. Brandt officiating, and six of her sons, Carl John, Frank Otto, Ervin and Benjamin acted as pallbearers.

Bertha Wilsing, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hy. Wilsing, was born in Manitowoc Co., Wis., March 15, 1860, and was 68 years, 3 months and 3 days of age at time of death. May 29, 1880, she was united in marriage to Frederick Plockelmann and in a short time came to Dorchester country, where they resided on their farm northwest of the village until a few years ago when they built them a beautiful home in the village where they have since resided. Thirteen children were born to them, two of which, a son and a daughter, have preceded the mother in death. Seven sons are living, and six sons who acted as pallbearers and Henry of Curtiss, and four daughters, Mrs. John Dorn (Eleanor), of Milwaukee, Mrs. Emil Goebler (Louise), of Sheboygan, Mrs. Albert Abegglen (Lydia), of Stetsonville, and Mrs. Elmer Koehn (Edith), of Dorchester.

Another pioneer of Dorchester country is gone and one is reminded of the great work they have done to make this country of our the garden it is.

Mrs. Plockelmann will be much missed by those who knew and loved her, a quiet, unassuming woman, loyal to her home, family and church. She has been in very poor health for years but was cheery and kindly, keeping her ills to herself and trying to help those about her. Besides her husband and children she leaves 31 grandchildren and 2 sisters to mourn her loss.

Her children were all here for the funeral and her sons-in-law and Mrs. Johanna Townsend of Milwaukee and Mrs. Alex Frantz of Manitowoc, and Mrs. Carl Plockelmann’s daughter, Mrs. Sampson of Milwaukee.

May God comfort these dear mourning friends is the sincere wish of their many Dorchester friends.
