She became ill about Christmas time with pneumonia, which was the cause of her demise. Miss Whelmine Rempter was born Feb. 3, 1859, in Germany, and grew to womanhood there. While there she was united in marriage to John Resech. In 188? They came to the United States, settling on a farm one and one-half miles north of Abbotsford where she has since resided. In October 1890, Mr. Resech passed away, leaving his wife and 5 children, all of whom are still living. They are Frank of Stevens Point, Wis.; George of Park Falls, Wis.; Mrs. Draves of Chicago, Ill; John Jr. of St. Cloud, Minn.; and Mrs. R. D. Hondersheldt of Marshall, Minn. On March 22, 1892, she was united in marriage to Mr. Fred Daenicke. They resided on the same farm at which she had been living. To this union there were born five children. They are: Mrs. Leo Wachsmuth of Alma, Wis.; Martin of Abbotsford; Mrs. Ervin Behrend of Athens; Mrs. Joe Ploof of Chicago, Ill.; and Fred Jrs., of Arco, Minn. Mrs. Daenicke also leaves her husband to mourn her loss, besides her children and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church yesterday, Rev. J. Brandt officiating and interment took place at the local cemetery with Gust Busse, Arthur Baehr, H. Marquardt, Gust Laack, Frank Kellner and Albert Bishop acting as pallbearers. Their many friends and neighbors join the Clarion in offering sympathy and condolence to the bereaved ones. |
