Obit: Dresden, Jane (1883 – 1934)
Surname: Dresden, Wood, Daveni, Cram, Forbush, Galbreath, White, Ritchie, Sandine, Eastman Source: Neillsville Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 17 May 1934 Dresden, Jane (3 April 1883 – 12 May 1934) After lying in a coma for more than a week, following a period of poor health. Mrs. C. B. Dresden passed away Saturday, May 12. Jane Wood was born in the town of Hewett April 3, 1883 and had reached the age of 51 years, one month and 9 days at her death. She grew to womanhood in the town of Hewett and was married to Mr. Dresden Dec. 7, 1904. All of their married life was spent in Neillsville. For some time after their marriage they conducted a hotel in this city and Mrs. Dresden was very popular with the public because of her efficiency and courtesy in caring for the welfare of guests. In later years her life has been devoted to the care of her home and to assistance of friends and relatives who needed her help. She was devoted wife and a sacrificing friend to all in need of friendship. She was an active member of the Royal Neighbors. Mrs. Dresden is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Leona Daveni, and two grandchildren, Wavagle and Charles Cram. Wavaglee, aged 13, has made her home with her grandparents practically all her life. She leaves also two sisters, Mrs. Geo. Forbush of Sheldon, Wash., and Mrs. John Galbreath of the town of Washburn; and two brothers, David Wood of Seif; and Joseph Wood of Hewett, besides a number of nephews and nieces. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at Lowe’s Funeral home, Rev. Paul White officiating. Those from away who came before her death or later to attend the funeral were: Mrs. Daveni, Milwaukee; Mrs. Forbush, Sheldon, Wash.; Erwin Ritchie, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Sandine of St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Eastman, Amboy, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Dresden, Rib Lake.
