Imbery, Raymond A. (25 March 1918 – 18 Jan. 2004)

Raymond A. Imbery, 85 of 124 W. West St., Cadott, died Thursday, January 15, 2004, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on March 25, 1918, the son of Adolph and Anna (Dallendorfer) Imbery in Thorp, Wis. Ray married Adeline Novack on October17, 1942, and she preceded him in death on October17, 1984. He then married Bernadine (Goettl) Odenbach on October 2, 1985.

Ray entered into the Air Corps in April of 1942, and was discharged on November 20, 1945, with the rank of sergeant. He was employed as a plumber in Cornell for many years and retired at Uniroyal in Eau Claire in 1981.

Ray is survived by his wife, Bernadine Imbery of Cadott; two daughters, Irene Binkowski of Apple Valley, Minn., and Gail (Roger) West of Eau Claire; one son, Allen (Jean) Imbery of Cumberland; one stepdaughter, Bonnie (Steve) Mitchell of Lancaster, Penn.; one stepson, Jim Buresh of Cornell; five grandchildren, Matthew (Erica) West of Fall Creek, Janel (Andy) Schieffer of Eau Claire, Rebecca Binkowski (fiance Dave Erickson) of Apple Valley, Minn., Philip (Cari) Imbery of Eau Claire and Peter Imbery of Chippewa Falls; two step grandchildren, Kelsey Mitchell of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Cody Buresh of Cornell; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence (Deloris) Imbery of Chippewa Falls; three sisters, Dorothy Lacina of Cadott, Louise (Bill) Nagle of Chippewa Falls and Trudy Tetzloff of Westchester, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Margie Imbery.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 19, 2004, at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic church in Cadott with Fr. Kurt Apfelbeck officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Drywood. Military services will be conducted by Cadott American Legion Post 159 and VFW Post 6005.

Friends may call at the Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott today from 4 to 8 p.m., where there will be a 7:30 p.m. vigil prayer service.
