Obit: Rohloff, Bessie A. (1908 – 1931)
Surnames: STABNOW ROHLOFF Source: The Loyal Tribune 24 September 1931 Rohloff, Bessie A. (19 OCT 1908 – 18 SEP 1931) Bessie Agnes Stabnow Rohloff, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aug. F. Stabnow of the town of Beaver, was born at Cooperstown, N. Dakota on October 19, 1908. At the age of four weeks she came with her mother to their home near Greenwood. At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized by Rev. Art Perkins of Wausau. She graduated from the Loyal high school with the class of 1927. She also graduated from the Teachers Training School with the class of 1928, after which she taught for two years. On May 22, 1930 she was united in marriage to Wm. H. Rohloff of the town of Unity, where since they have made their home. On Friday, September 18, 1931 she passed away at St. Joseph’s hospital of Marshfield. At one o’clock on Sept. 21st a short service was held at the home of her parents, from there the body was taken to the M. E. Church at Greenwood, Rev. Maddock officiating. Her body was laid to rest in the Greenwood cemetery beside that of her sister Ethel who preceded her in death in 1911. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Wm. H. Rohloff and little son Carl William, her parents Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Stabnow, her brother Leroy of Mellon and sisters Luella and Anna, besides a host of relatives and friends. Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Stabnow and Wallace Himes of Mellon, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Sullivan, Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Sullivan, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Stabnow and Ernest Stabnow of North Freedom, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Don Steuber and daughter Lucille of Prairie du Sac, Mr. and Mrs. Al Fraust of Baraboo, Miss Regina Borchardt and daughter Mrs. Dempsey of Abbotsford. Dearest Bessie thou has left us, From this world of pain and woe. Left us to be with Jesus Where with cares fore’er you’re through Unto Jesus we commit you, He our keeper and our friend. But so sadly we will miss you ‘Til we all shall meet again. |
