Surname: Bishton, Johnson, Adams Source: Scrap book one: by Elsa Lange Hardrath & Dorthaleen Edwards Hardrath Contributed by Halbert “Bud” Hardrath Bishton, Mary Jane (14 Sept. 1856 –9 May 1941) Mary Jane Bishton, deceased was born Sept. 14, 1856, at Neillsville, Wis. She was united in marriage to Mr. Lewis Johnson, who passed away April 5, 1895, at the age of 45 years. To this union was born 7 children five of whom preceded her in death. Later Mary Jo Johnson was united to Wm. A. Bishton deceased. She owned and operated “Mercer Lake Resort” 45 years until her sight became impaired in 1939, resulting in the loss of both eyes. She was otherwise active and in good health until May 9, 1941, when she fell and injured her left-hip. Complications followed, which resulted in her passing June 2, 1941, at the age of 84 years, 8 months, and 19 days. She was a very kind devoted mother, friend and neighbor. She leaves to mourn her loss, 1 son Eugene Johnson, {Location hard to read} 1 daughter Mrs. J. M. Adams, Ortonville, Minn., 18 grand children, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 1 great-niece, 1 great-nephew, and a host of friends.
