Obit: Alexander, Carlyle (1940 – 1956)
Surname: Alexander, Avery, Andreaks, Bergemann Source: Scrap book one: by Elsa Lange Hardrath & Dorthaleen Edwards Hardrath Contributed by Halbert “Bud” Hardrath Alexander, Carlyle (1940 – 22 April 1956) THREE KILLED SUNDAY IN CAR ACCIDENTS Two persons were killed Sunday in separate automobile accidents on Highway 29 near Thorp and Abbotsford and one at Edgar. They were: Carlyle Alexander, age 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Alexander of Owen, Route 1. Donald Wayne Avery, age 25, of Milwaukee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Avery of Cornell, Route 1. Robert Andraska of Edgar. Alexander, an Owen-Withee High School senior, was killed when the car in which he was the only occupant crashed against a concrete abutment two miles west of Abbotsford at about 3:30 a.m. It is believed the youth died instantly. John Bergemann of Neillsville, Clark County coroner, said there will be no inquest. Alexander was on his way home after attending a dance at Dorchester and it is the opinion of the coroner that he fell asleep at the wheel. His parents had attended the same dance but had returned home earlier. The car which he was driving reportedly belonged to an automobile dealer and had been loaned for a test. Avery lost his life when the car in which he was the only occupant collided almost head-on with a milk truck two miles west of Thorp at about 10:30 Sunday morning. He was pronounced dead of chest and severe leg injuries on arrival at Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley. **Rest of the article cut off. Addition note in margin: -- The death date --Grandson of Lula & Louis Hardrath
