Surnames: PHILLIPPI WAGNER Source: THORP COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 07/02/1931 Phillippi, James (MAY 1914 – 27 JUN 1931) James Phillippi, son of Mr. Matt J. Phillippi, of Alston, Mich., died at a hospital at Houghton, Mich., on Saturday evening last following an operation performed the day previous. The young man had reached the age of seventeen years and one month. He had just completed a year’s course of study at the high school at Houghton and leaves to mourn his untimely death his father, two sisters, Kathleen and Marian, and one brother, John, aged five years, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wagner of this village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.), and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Phillippi of Athens, Wis. Funeral services and interment took place at Hancock, Mich. On Wednesday of this week. Mrs. Wm. Wagner and Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Rasmussen went to Hancock on Tuesday morning to attend the funeral.
