Hardrath, 96, of Owen, Town of Green Grove, died Monday, September 3, 1990, enroute to Marshfield Hospital. Services will be held at the Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, Wis. Friday, September 7th at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Paul Kirker will be officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Louis was born in the town of Green Grove on September 19, 1893 to the late Herman and Emma (Molle) Hardrath. He attended the Oak Grove and Elmwood Schools and at the age of seventeen, he worked in the harvest fields of North Dakota. On August 4, 1915 Louis and Lula Scheel were married at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, South Green Grove. The Atwood area of Green Grove became home to them and their children for many years, operating a farm. Louis also was a town supervisor for six years, town chairman for Green Grove for twelve years, North Bright School Board Treasurer, member of the Black River Rod and Gun Club, for many years. Lula preceded him in death on December 3, 1969. Survivors include one daughter and three sons; Mrs. Roscoe (Inez) Alexander, of Whitewater, Wis.; Richard, of Sonora, Cal.; Harlan, of Owen, Wis.; and Alden of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Ten grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was also predeceased by four brothers and three sisters, one grandson and one great-grandson.
