Decker, Bernard T. (1935 – 1 AUG 2005)

Bernard “Bernie” T. Decker, 70, Orlando, Fla., died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2005, at Fish Memorial Hospital. A memorial service was held at English Gardens, Winter Park, Fla.

Bernard T. Decker was born in Greenwood. He graduated in 1962 from the University of Wisconsin with a law degree. He worked for the law firm of H.H. Brown in Union Grove for three years before relocating to Orlando. He then worked for the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems from August 1966 to January 1995. During his tenure, he served as counsel overseeing millions of dollars in contracts. He received numerous awards including the Superior Civilian Service Award, which is the highest Naval Civilian honor. He was a brilliant, engaging conversationalist with a quick wit and he was loved dearly by his family and all who knew him.

Survivors include his second wife, Mary; his first wife, Dona; and three children, David, Kurt, and Tareen, and their spouses.
