Peterson, daughter of Elias and Andrea Peterson, was born Jan. 11, 1864 in Trondhjem, Norway. She came to America in July 1873. She was united in marriage to Louis Larson in May 1882. Mr. Larson preceded her in death May 10, 1902. Five children were born of this union, Mrs. Alfred Jensen of Neillsville, Wis., Mrs. Oren Crum of Owen, Wis., Alvin Larson of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. Oscar Johnson of Flint Michigan and Clayton, who passed away in infancy. She is also survived by one brother, four sister and eight grandchildren. Mrs. Larson was a pioneer in Clark County, coming here from Norway when she was 9 years old and has resided in Greenwood and vicinity for 55 years. In her long residence in the county, she has experienced many hardships and joys of pioneer life. She has made her contribution, by toil and sacrifice, to the development of this beautiful country, and has set an example of courageous, persistent industry. Besides her immediate family, she leaves a host of friends who will cherish her memory and mourn her loss. Mrs. Larson passed away Monday, Nov. 19,1928, at her home in this city. Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church Thursday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock, Rev. D.S. Householder officiating. Interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Many hundreds of relatives and friends were present to show their last respects and the many beautiful floral offerings were proof of the high esteem in which the deceased was held. Among the out of town relatives and friends were the following: Mr. Ole Larson of Black River Falls, Wis.; Mr. Calr Larson, Mr. And Mrs. Nels Larson, Mr. Elgin Larson and Mr. George Clipper of Taylor, Wis., ; Mrs. John Charles and Mrs. Herman Olson of Neillsville, Wis.; Mr. And Mrs. Frank Hepburn of Fairchild, Wis.; Mr. Walter Stauss of Eau Claire, Wis.; and Dr. and Mrs. M. Ketchpaw of Bloomer, Wis. |
